Big City

I kind of made this up before falling asleep.. from outside my window you can see the water and all the lights of the houses on the other side

I live in a big city with many people

People I don't know

and I´ve been staring out my window

Watching them come and go

Dusk til dawn, day by day

They keep walking by

In the warmth of the sun in May

Or under a cold February sky

I walk among them sometimes

On my way to work

Different stories, different lives

I feel like I don't belong in this world

I live a big city with many people

Will I find someone to live for?

Watching them, all I know

Is I don't want to be alone anymore

Oh big city, there must be more

Than the music that fades at dawn

and people creeping out of the houses

Of the stranger they stumbled upon

My big city, so full of life

But where has your hope departed?

Where is the hope that was under the citylights?

Why are so many people brokenhearted?

I want to keep beleving it´ll be allright

and that hope someday will come back

But I´ve been staring out my window too many nights

I can´t keep living like that
