A Poet

This one just came to me..

You ask me what a true poet is

Do you know what I think?

There´s more to a poet

Than their tears and their ink

There is hope on that paper

With dreams in each word

You love then you hate her

Some letters are blurred

There is passion, there´s comfort

A moment preserved in time

Piece of a heart, piece of a soul

Between every line

All of the thoughts that can´t be defined

There is confusion and tension

Happy and fearful days

Not just paper and pencil

But a whole life on that page

There´s sadness, there´s strength

You live and you die

A poet feels content

But then the ink starts to dry

That was beautiful Johanna:) But this ole poet is about done! The problem is the heart and pen cant agree and cause a pain why should I be in pain to write? I hold enough the way it is so I am done for awhile. I loved your write:)

I don't think there are any real words that can describe this. It is just to stunning and amazing to comprehend. It flows like an elvish river with the most accurate representation of a true poets heart. The words you used were perfect and each had their own strength that added to the overall feel. I believe that your name will one day be in the history books, and they will be reading your poetry in hundreds of years as they read Shakespeare now.

You've summed up creativity built from and with words, Johanna! Your thoughts translate so well in your poem: fine phrases, fine metre; content -truly considered and certainly true. Emotions are so strongly tied in with how a person feels when writing but there's more before and after the process.. it's like a deep intake of breath .. then a slow release. Brava!
