She Never DidA Poem by Johanna"He puts the pictures in a box, can´t look anymore at what he lost..."They’re all spread across the floor Memories of before They used to hang on his wall He took them down
He has tried to rip them apart The way she ripped up his heart He tried to burn them in the ashtray Like he let love burn away But he can´t
She is smiling, bright eyes Before the tears, before the light dies She cried, tried to apologize As she said goodbye Goodbye
He puts the pictures in a box Can´t look anymore at what he lost He bought a ticket, she said no Told him to just let her go Why?
She took his heart with her Said she could not be his future It still beats, despite being in pieces It was love, no matter how she sees it Still is
It doesn’t matter what she said All his letters that she never read He sent them after her when she fled They all returned He put them in the box under the bed They all
returned She never did © 2014 JohannaReviews
