SoberA Poem by JohannaRead a newsarticle about this subject, and decided to put words on the situation. I can´t imagine living this way. So sad.In the middle of the night I was woken A bottle in pieces on the floor Broken Broken like our family Broken like you Broken like me
You stood wide-eyed While the wine dried You denied everything You always do Tried a confident stride But you couldn´t manage to
The next day Just pain in your head Pain in my heart My mother´s eyes were red Said you were sorry, again Our best carpet, big red stain
I´ve heard your lies a million times I don´t want you to apologize The line has been crossed Long time since hope was lost Despite it all, there is love in my cries But I´ve lost all worth in my father’s eyes
By afternoon I´m filled with fear I hear you shout, it´s not you Can´t hold on for another year Where is the love, where is the grace Coffee table full of beer My mother packs a suitcase
Your love stood there She said it was over Look at us with an empty glare You didn´t care, didn´t stop her You would have If you were sober © 2013 JohannaFeatured ReviewReviews
