ideas.

ideas.

A Poem by joeysick

ideas don’t grow on trees,

ideas don’t come with college degrees

ideas, unlike races, are never complete

we type paragraphs and paragraphs only to press delete

we build rome to see it collapse

we created time to see it elapse

quit wasting time, there’s no time to waste

we must work, we must work, we must work with great haste

ideas too great to copy and paste

be wise, open your eyes

take it with pride, your work is too you to be the cause of one’s rise

why build the jet for someone else to travel?

why throw away paper for someone else to unravel?

we scribble, we scribble

to not even like it - not even a little

you can plant the seed but without h2o,

on trees, your ideas will simply not grow
