Roadhouse

Roadhouse

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Drowning in a glass of whiskey tears
Psychedelic tabs have her tripping with fear
Steering towards reality’s dead end
She’s her only enemy but also her only friend

Her mother raised an angel but she pawned her wings and halo for temples and volcanoes
New Jersey Gal with San Diego dreams
No money in her pockets, just a hand full of schemes

She’s out for your heart
God made but she’s a devils work of art
Nightcrawler ambition
Killer eyes that glisten
One night with her and you’ll be missin

A roadhouse queen who can please the betweens
She’s got a smile that’ll make you lean
She’s gotcha on your back
Gave you a ride for a thrill and a sack

Roadhouse queen
Don’t go near that girl
The earth will keep spinning
But the reaper will have you in a twirl
