It’s Electric

It’s Electric

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Computerized eyes can’t visualize hell as a place of fire
It’s nothing but a tomb of loss signals and tangled wires
Attached to your phones, you start to become one within the cell
Unaware you fell victim to its ever lasting spell
Wounds that run deep begin to corrupt the motherboard you call a heart
Blood can’t be spilled when your wires begin to fall apart
Your surroundings become unnoticed
The woman of your dreams, the hidden lotus blooms right in front your blind eyes
You’ve become one with the machine and nobody can understand your robotic cries
Human you once were but those memories become nothing a blur
Just another GPU who can’t comprehend the connection between I and you
It’s electric
You were once majestic but now you’re a component who’s been tested
It’s electric
You live behind a screen, a fools perspective
It’s electric
You’ve been programmed, no longer a part of genetics
It’s electric
Your love is synthetic
