The Future?

The Future?

A Poem by Joey Martinez

You lead them to visualize the light but the fright of change has them going towards the lane that steered them through pain
Now a woman of God seems deranged for propelling the fame of our lord and savior
It’s far more enticing to savor the flavor of the forbidden fruit the devil offers
Why kneel on an alter to an indecisive Man when you can offer your soul in hand for the world
To believe in a God makes you odd in today’s age of time
It’s the generation of rebellion and Lucifer armies continue to grow strong
I watch them unknowingly sing along to her scriptures that were made into family friendly songs
I watch them bathe in sin and wash the backs of their loved ones
I don’t act
I don’t know how to counteract
I don’t even know how to react
All I can do is watch the madness unfold and hold on to the little faith I have
Perhaps I’m not the strongest believer but Mother Earth’s global warming is a mere fever due to the devils demeanor
If nothing changes then the future will use us as a mere joke
If there is a future that is...
We’re settled with being selfish for the present instead of giving for the future
We settle for ourselves
We are animals
