Lost in smoke

Lost in smoke

A Poem by Joey Martinez

You know marijuana was made to relax and heal
But lately you’ve been using it to avoid the cards reality deals
Can’t handle the pressure so now you measure the amount of grams it takes to numb those thoughts that infiltrate the mind
You’re losing yourself and you’re losing your time
Those red eyes imply that you’re fine but once they shine white, the bells of sorrow begin to chime
You crave a helping hand but you can’t latch because you’re too attached to the weed
A plant of wisdom has become a drug of greed
Go ahead and continue to claim you’re mentally free, it’s only temporary
All highs come to an end no matter how many ends you engulf with flames
You must tame your demons with a sober mind
Too much smoke will make yourself hard to find

Wow, this speaks the voice of truth. Too much marijuana turns someone into an introvert, far too much. And as you said they can lose themselves completely to it.
