Horns

Horns

A Poem by Joey Martinez

You think you’re sure but the woman who wore the halo on her head turned out to be a demon with horns
No one is born with hate but the world made her migrate to your soulful arms
Now a heart has becomed harmed and you lie in a cloud of marijuana smoke paranoid and alarmed
You couldn’t see past her mischievous charm or her smile that resembled Valhalla’s shine
You were nothing but another victim who got to the front of the line
But don’t dwell over an angel sent from hell
This is nothing but a mere story to tell when you’re settled down with the woman of your kingdom
Be wise and rise
You fell for the disguise but why would jump in front of the bullet and happily die?
You still care, how unfair and cruel life can be but one day you’ll see...
It wasn’t meant to be
She wasn’t the seed to plant a new life in this world
But you still hope she comes back a whole new girl
