Funeral earth

Funeral earth

A Poem by Joey Martinez

As an innocent youth I remembered the world as a portrait that displayed these vibrant rays of colors
Now adulthood has come and we wear nothing but black to adapt to the now
At what age did we allow ourselves to rot into these heartless creatures with clone like features
We’re all becoming the same, just a bunch of deranged animals who claim to be sane humanitarians
No one to blame but ourselves, picking up drugs and alcohol instead of books from the shelves
But that’s what helps....
That’s what numbs the pain in this world that continues to drain
Human interaction seem to cause a negative reaction as evil spreads its disease to please it’s maker
God must have ran out of genuine parts because people today can’t be made any faker
Earth is dying so we wear all black to mourn what once was
What was once love... harmony.... truth
Don’t blame the youth
Blame you
