![]() Don’t runA Poem by Joey Martinez
You’re not in love, you’re in love with the idea of it and the plans it provides.
You demand it from almost every woman that comes across your eyes. No matter what race or color hair, you end up with demise and despair. But you’re so quick to replace and drown into false hope. Only fools like you believe love is in the air and choke. Never learned to appreciate yourself so you buy some self help books off the shelf. Nothing more than a coaster for your shots of whiskey. You take a shot every time you text message “Do you miss me?” Nobody gives a damn about a man who can’t help himself. Love is good for the soul but it’s bad for your health. I think it’s time you learn how to appreciate the man in the mirror so you can see much clearer. You’ll find the one. Stop the race, don’t start to run. Help yourself or she’ll never come. © 2018 Joey Martinez |
