Mind vacation

Mind vacation

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Your mind was once used as a vacation, escaping the insanity of reality.
You felt at peace with your inner thoughts no matter how hard you fought with the routine of bullshit you faced on a daily basis.
But now there's no footsteps in the sand, no traces of life.
Your mind is a knife, tearing you apart.
A work of art starts to become useless clutter.
You had high hopes but now they're lost in the gutter.
You have no where to hide.
Depression made its way inside.
However, you're a pro at hiding the pain.
The forecast calls for sunny skies but you continue to dance in the rain.
The older you get, the more regrets.
Opportunities start to fade and reality invades its way to the beach.
Your mind has become out of reach.
Run
