Funeral

Funeral

A Poem by Joey Martinez

I know most of us think about our death.
Who or what will come to our minds during our last breath.
How many people will attend the funeral?
How many people who disrespected thy name will come out to say how beautiful we once were.
Emotions begin to stir during the toughest of times except the truth.
The truth shines bright when someone loses their light.
Now you watch from above to see who really loved your presence.
Are you truly missed or just another peasant who couldn't make it out alive?
Are you simply a shrug or an ocean of cries?
I guess we'll all have our questions answered one day.
I pray that whoever reads this doesn't find out soon.
We're just beginning to bloom but lately the world has been nothing but doom.
