The rage

The rage

A Poem by Joey Martinez

I think we're in the age of competition.
Under the submission of rage when our peers soar to new heights while others struggle to turn a new page.
Being pressured to grow in a surrounding where we have no control.
Instead of trying to help, most inflict pain that's already been dealt.
It's hard to make friends when all good things are coming to an end.
It's hard to be confident in a world of incompetence.
But it's easy to fall into the rage that you left unlocked in the cage of emotions.
Adulthood has the devil on our shoulders causing commotion with the angels who try to put our hard work in motion.
Happiness is a life long journey while depression is an everyday session.
So many problems rise and the answers lie in disguise.
Tears of joy are less common than cries of demise.
Avoiding the rage is an everyday task.
Trying to create a brighter future while stuck in the past.
