Opposite directions

Opposite directions

A Poem by Joey Martinez

You refuse to change so don't question the range.
I don't want to be involved in your failure.
Despite my urge to be your savior, I can't keep close to a traitor of his own soul.
I can't help a person who has no control.
I wish you nothing but the best.
I had some rest and decided to get these words off my chest.
I can't fix the mess you provided.
I give you directions but you're still misguided.
Maybe you just need some time alone.
No drone of a friend to hover over the tragedy.
I'm tired of seeing the catastrophe.
Help yourself and the range between you and I will decrease.
You're a dog tied to addictions leash.
Break the chain.
I'll be waiting for you.
