Clear

Clear

A Poem by Joey Martinez

They say slow and steady wins the race
But you're starting to feel the frustration in your face from not being able to keep up with the pace
You're becoming lost on this track of life
People are passing you left and right
And here you are up late at night trying to fight those foolish worries
The future was once clear but now it's blurry
I know it sounds cliché but you'll see results once you realize you're the one at fault and time stops for no man so don't you dare come to a halt
Keep it moving, work hard and pursue your passion
Save money, start to ration, don't worry about today's silly trends and fashion
The road ahead is clear
You control the car now go ahead and steer
And soon you'll see the old you in the rear view mirror
Tomorrow is the day the future becomes much more clearer
