Why care

Why care

A Poem by Joey Martinez

From peaceful protests to violent attacks
Race is a growing issue amongst the world not just white and black
Those silly dreams of world peace cease to exist as I see the rich and ignorant bathe in the blissful showers
And this issue of race keeps growing by the hour and exceeds in power from those who cower behind government towers
As the clock continues to tick the more sick I become
Because the youth in me is dying the transition has begun
No more hope, no more dreams
The dangers in the world can not go unseen
You can't avoid the void we're heading to
The lies are on this rise I even question the skies blue
The world is falling apart and people like you refuse to pick up the pieces
Too many souls avoiding the solutions, none look within the creases
It's raining despair, take a deep breath of the racism in the air
Relax, grab a chair
Let's watch the world end because I'm starting to not f*****g care
