shovel

shovel

A Poem by Joey Martinez

The more money you have the more people listen
But what about those who are struggling to stand on their toes with tears that glisten
No one pays them any attention but their deaths don't go unmentioned because the fake will mention their deepest regret
Portraying that the world needs change but still fall into the category of those who increase the debt
I stand for those who have succumb to bruised toes from struggling to grow
Keep your money while I look for change
Your wallet can you bring fame but once death pays a visit our bank accounts will be the same
The voices of the voiceless need to be heard before the demons inside become absurd
Their waiting to be saved but you worry about these celebrities who flash their pay
Ignoring those who are digging their own graves
Not know you're the shovel instead of the one who can save
