A Poem by Joey Martinez

People my age are traveling the world while I travel my mind
Writing down those thoughts that love to haunt at the wrong time and turn them into rhymes
Trading in those Corona's with lime into a cup of coffee so I can have more energy to climb through the vines of my thoughts
Hoping someone can relate to my inner demons and realize the pen and paper is the spell that can free them
So I guess you can say I'm always on vacation because my mind is always in rotation
Landing in different stations of emotional nations that become written translations
I write about the sad
I write about the good and also the bad
My mind is on autopilot and i cant help but try to fight it
Maybe someday ill be in control and write about how I hijacked the cockpit and took hold of its course
But for now I am a passenger writing away the remorse
