Thorn

Thorn

A Poem by Joey Martinez

She's a rose full of thorns
Indeed she bloomed on the summers June but her path left her torn and worn from the spout of people's mouth
But she knew how to make it through without you
Everyone makes their way through rough situations but only the strong make it out the systems plantation
Every rose desires to be picked rather than pick the delicate hand that tries to nourish it's beauty
So she lies with rough edges hoping someone appreciates the pledges she made her duty
Someone who doesn't mind the thorns and embrace how it's worn to show the world there's no need to mourn since a new rose is born
Don't give up on a person due to their struggles
Some rise up fast while others stumble
Stick with her. Stick with her. Stick with her.
