Run

Run

A Poem by Joey Martinez

I sit here and begin to ponder
The past makes its way and now I begin to wonder
The tides of her memories flood the mind
Painting vivid images of times that I would love to rewind
Some good but mostly bad
I can't help but reflect on certain choices I wish I never had done
I wish I would have stayed with you until the end but I chose to run
So many things I wish I can fix
But the only thing I can do is sit back and reminisce
Damn these late nights for putting my heart and mind in a fight
Looks like I'll be staying up until the moon gives light to the sun
Here's a toast to you, a memory which I can't outrun
