Connection

Connection

A Poem by Joey Martinez

The girl who loves to stay in bed
Avoiding the drama that loves to spread
Staying inside enjoying her days
No visitors welcome please go away
A lover of peace and quiet
But deep down her mind is a riot
Aching for someone to join her silent solitude
A companion who shares the same view and loves to be in bed and nibble on some food
But most importantly she yearns for someone to talk to
Someone to listen not to hear
A friend who can alter her mind, make it shift gears
Someone who can help conquer her inner fears
As she grows older the more she loves to stay inside
And it's not that she loves to play hide and seek
She just loves to be in a calm environment without a nuisance or peep
But still, she seeks a thrill
That person of the opposite sex who can make time stand still
And kill that shell that covers a outgoing woman
The silent girl looking for the silent man
To come together and make a plan
Help her get off her knees and make her stand
She just wants to feel a connection
She just wants to bond in bed
No sex is needed she just wants her mind fed
Fed with new stories new tales new thoughts
She wants a writer
She wants a poet
She wants you

lovely. You very much captured the dilemma of wanting what's comfortable and just wanting more. Solitude is easy, but lonely. Really nice write.
