Prisoner of the mind

Prisoner of the mind

A Poem by Joey Martinez

It's as if one eye visualizes the present while the other perceives the future.
A movie where you're the main antagonist but also the producer.
You know the actions of today will impact tomorrows rehearsal.
The dispersal of negative energy your demons conduct have your paranoia levels becoming disruptive.
The bells of peace are quiet but the trumpets of anxiety play at full volume.
A prisoner of your own eyes.
Unaware it's the mind that holds the key.
You need to learn to erase the false images you see.
Pick the lock with deliberation.
Free yourself before you're caught in this battle of hesitation.
Take a deep breath and keep calm.
Those fists of fear need to become open palms.
You're on the right track but once a dilemma occurs you begin to crack.
The eyes must coexist with the mind.
Visualize inner peace and soon you'll find.
Don't let the concern burn the bridges you're creating with your success.
You're not cursed, but blessed.
