Maybe

Maybe

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Spring is making her arrival
Winter makes one last push towards his rival
But it seems as if my heart of ice will never melt
Too much pain has been inflected too much havoc has been dealt
Sunshine is far away the cold lingers on
My hope for love seems distant, perhaps it is gone
Sometimes I wonder if I was meant to be alone
An outcast to society, a mindless drone
But then I come to my senses
I'm just not made for foolish love on the benches
I'm not made for betrayal and awkward tension
Perhaps I'm not made for feelings at all since I'm always on the fences
Wondering if I should fall in love or stay alone up above
Maybe someone will make the climb and give me a peace of mind, my white dove
Or maybe I'll take the leap and fall deep in love
No one knows except the God up above
Maybe.... just maybe
I'll find a woman to save me
