A Poem by Joey Martinez

Addictions consuming
Irrational thoughts are blooming
Her fried brain cells are fuming
It seems the past is making its way back in town
A tightly stiched smile falling apart into a frown
An open mind being clogged with foolish worry
Leaving the liquor store with a clumsy walk and vision that's blurry
Old habits become routines
Marijuana scented jeans
Liquor scented breath
Jumping towards the brink of death
Help her. Help her. She needs you
