Children of the grave

Children of the grave

A Poem by Joey Martinez

I can't stop death but it can stop me
Farewell mother nature and never ending
seas
But the top question remains the same
You know the one that drives a human insane
Will I rise or will I fall?
The phone is ringing will I answer the call?
Or what if..... there's nothing at all
No answer, no God, no devil
No purgatory no other level
Just death
Joined by children of the grave
Who believed in religion, victimless slaves
Told to behave due to constant fear
Of a horned man with a razor sharp tail and an unbreakable spear
The phone continues to ring
Will I hear the sound of an angels sing
Or the sound of a spear sharpening it's sting?
I want to believe in this God they claim
But I can't help but think it's nothing more than a fable that reached fame
I grab the phone
No angels, no devil, no tone
Nothing...... nothing at all
I will nether rise or fall
Children of the grave
