Awake

Awake

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Insomnia reaching new heights
But she's growing accustomed to these sleepless nights
It's a good thing those walls do not speak
She'll be doomed if her thoughts were to leak
It's tragic how once the sun decides to rest
Her mind decides to give her the ultimate test
Worry, depression, agression combined into a chain of thoughts
She can't count the number of mental battles thats been fought
But once the morning arrives and she witnesses the sun rise
Those thoughts seem to fade
It lowers it's guard it drops it's blade
The silent killer of the night
It seems light is its only fright
But how she wishes she can dream
Because reality isn't what it seems

insomnia can bring out a scary side of life. The poem brought out some cool emotion. Very nice.
