Twisted

Twisted

A Poem by Joey Martinez

God speaks but Satan whispers.
The flow of tides versus daunting twisters.
Do you do what's right or what pleases?
Do you hold back or attack the teases?
Can't have fun without a little sin right?
You can't enjoy light without knowing darkness.
The devil on your shoulder becomes a harness over your heart.
The book of God went from meaningful scriptures to foolish art.
The cross around your neck is nothing more than a piece of fashion.
It once held meaning until the devil gained traction.
The attraction of desires made a girl of cleansing waters into a woman of wild fires.
You proclaim to wanting to be saved but your soul is already engraved to the demons.
Your love for God was nothing more than a act of treason.
Another follower turned towards the wrong direction.
Another soul caught in an interception.
Humanity loses another player.
Hell awaits another slayer.
