Dropped

Dropped

A Poem by Joey Martinez

You would think these women in skimp clothing would grab my attention
But it's the total opposite they're not even worth the mention
I desire a challenge, an outsider, the odd piece of the puzzle that just doesn't fit
The one that'll make me change, the one that'll teach me that these old habits of mine need to quit
Someone who was a visitor of rock bottom and checked out ahead of schedule
A woman who can look past my current mistakes and visualize my potential
A woman with humor, a woman with comfort, a woman with a mother's touch
That special someone who can help me out of a jam, a woman who's clutch
And she exists
I try to catch her but I always miss
Damn these clumsy arms and scrawny wrists
