Reaper woes

Reaper woes

A Poem by Joey Martinez

The reaper has my address
As I step near the door I hear her breath
I hear the slash of its scythe
Hoping it makes contact with my life
She haunts my once heavenly dreams
Waking me with ear wrenching screams
Trapping me in this hell forsaken maze
Paralyzing me with her furocious gaze
Playing with its prey
Driving me insane
Dead ends on every corner
Fire in every lane
The reaper knocks on my door
Sharpening it's scythe while it frantically roars
The door crashes down, aching to find my soul
Coming to realize I have nothing but a empty hole
