Temptation

Temptation

A Poem by Joey Martinez

It's been a while since I picked up a pen
I assumed the madness was going to end
Such a fool I am to believe peace exists
Suckered in by the devil's kiss
Nothing tastes more heavenly then her demonic lips
Which had persuaded me into believing her tragic tricks
But you see, she is not who I blame
It is I who walked towards the flames
No matter how many times I burn
It's as if I never learn
Temptation, a powerful emotion that conquers all
The main reason why I rise but fall
