Silent Girl

Silent Girl

A Poem by Joey Martinez

The words are at the tip of her tongue
She desires to speak, to express herself
But her strength is beneath her
Instead she slips away mysteriously
Something about her catches my eye
Her silence and discreet movement have me at awe
She's different.... and I love different
She's quite the puzzle but I do enjoy a challenge
I enjoy a mysterious girl who lives in her own little word
And I know she wants someone to live in there with her
But no one catches her attention, no one can figure her out
Silence has never been this beautiful
I must have her I must solve her
However, the guessing game is what keeps me interested in her
And the more curious I am the more I fall for her
Although I have never heard her speak
Her silence is the most beautiful thing I ever heard
I know her tongue aches to speak
But no one is worth her breath
I want to be her first
And I'm not talking sex
Her persona gives off a greater feeling than that
I want to be her first words
Her first conversation
Her first interaction
My mysterious beautiful challenge
Let me solve you
Let me in your world
I want to experience it with you
We can sit in silence if that's what you please
Stare eye to eye and figure what lies inside
Notice me
I want to experience silence with you
