We Meet Again

We Meet Again

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Her luscious hands wipe away my tears of sorrow
Reassuring me there's going to be a better tomorrow
A touch with such a comforting feel
Beauty that's beyond the norm, I still wonder if she's real
She pulls closer and whispers in my ear
"Your eyes tell a story of fear"
"I knew you were in need of help"
I ask her how'd she know
She said "I to experienced the pain you felt"
"I to was down on my knees"
"Looking for a friend in need"
"And someone came my way"
"Saved me from darkness and walked away"
"And ever since then"
"I promised if I ever see someone in my position, ill be that friend"
Her story tore me apart
How can I share something awful with such beautiful art
You'd never suspect a angel to go through such pain
But I guess in order to see the sun you must walk through the rain
Before she left I asked her how'd she manage to defeat the pain
She said "Because you were the umbrella that hid me from the rain"
I look at her with a startled gaze
She said "You start to become unrecognizable in happiness rays"
"You made me into a beacon of light"
"Now its my turn to make you shine bright"
