The Dealer Of Dreams

The Dealer Of Dreams

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Do you have any dreams you're willing to sell?
Because these nightmares have me living in hell
I'm trying to outrun these thoughts that haunt at night
But the darkness is consuming everything in sight
And as each night comes to a halt
I lie in bed wide awake trying to erase these thoughts
I know there's someone who can offer a dream or two
Could that generous person be you?
All I ask is for a dream I can reminisce on during my sleep
I promise I won't tell anyone ill be discreet
The city of nightmares isn't for me
So I wander each ally and each street
Looking for the dealer of dreams
Hoping he'll come out of the seams
