I write for the sake of the reader
I'm the stranger that adds change to your meter
So happiness can last you longer
I want my words to make you stronger
I yearn to help you fight against life's obstacles
So you can be joyous like the youth eating their first popsicle
Every poet portrays themselves rising to fame
Hoping for a chance to play the game
But I just want to help
And erase the pain thats been dealt
Together we can climb the wall
My words will provide strength so you won't fall
The pen is a crutch I use to give you aid
So I can help the pain fade
I will admit, I would love to taste the fruit of fame
But I rather write poetry for your feelings to be tamed
I am the messenger of my hearts words
