Its Just Too Late

Its Just Too Late

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Come, lets go for a walk
Turn off the music we need to talk
Hurry and keep with the pace
This needs to be discussed face to face
Are you truly okay?
Can you go another day?
Are you mentally stable?
This is reality girl
Not some fable
I just see another girl in my eyes
One that's holding a flood of cries
With lips that speak of these foolish lies
The vibe you rub off has me wanting to disperse
If you don't speak now I'm afraid it'll get worse
I see the knife located inside your purse
Don't do it, please don't dare
I'm here to help you know I care
I know this world isn't what you expected
Your smile can't cover your frown of depression
You sit on the throne of sadness
While your mind vacations on the islands of madness
But even if I say it will be alright
You will still look down towards that knife
So please don't hesitate to let me help
I can't take back what you felt
But trust me, I'll do anything to help
But its too late
You're already dead
I'm just reminiscing on what I should have said
I should have acted on what I felt that day
And you will never come back no matter how hard I pray
Gone, you're gone

Your best piece so far for sure.
Very moving!!!
Again also filled with emotion and depth, and so meaningful.
Sad little tale though.
Its hard watching someone go through depression, most people are such good souls and don't deserve it.
Although it happens to them anyway. Its hard seeing someone you love go through that. And feeling helpless and doomed, like you feel like you want to help but can't. Don't know what to do or say to make it better.
I relate to this in both ways, as being the person trying to help, as my sister has a bad case of depression, and my mum has it to.
Now lately seems like im getting it.
So yer I know its hard.
Brilliant piece I loved it.
