Joey

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Its funny how a man with no emotion can put so much on a page
In order to distract himself from his troubles and inner rage
A man who puts on a mask of lies
So that people don't know how he feels inside
A human who feels nothing, who holds a numb touch
Can pour out his heart so much
I write to show people you are not the only one
To show you that you don't have to run
I want my words to be your guiding light
I want you to read my thoughts so you can feel alright
I rather help you then myself
I want you to gain the health to pursue your wealth
Being a poet can bring comfort to all
A simple poem can help you escape from your downfall
And maybe one day my words can become a cure for a disease
So that everyone can be mentally stable and do as they please
I want my words to take you over seas
To show places far beyond what the eye can see
We can do this together, just you and me

Really deep piece, filled with emotion, meaning and insight.
This piece lets the readers know that you hope your writing makes a difference.
You hope it can help people and send them much need messages, to pull through the day.
That is great.
At the start You say you are a man with no emotion, this has much emotion in it, your emotions just come out more in your writing. You are one of us a writer.
I loved the rhyming scheme to this as well.
Brilliant piece.
Thanks for sharing :)
