Dig Little Rabbit

Dig Little Rabbit

A Poem by Joey Martinez

A soul punctured by regrets
A brain tormented by threats
Hands become numb
Feet that refuse to run
I'm becoming stuck in this body of pain
Drenched in my tears that flood like rain
Trapped in this dead end with no where to go
Forbidden to enter where the fruit of life grows
Lost in a morbid world in which I created
Trying to piece together the colors that long ago have faded
Beaten, broken, shattered to bits
Sitting in darkness asking life, is this really it?
Is this all that you offer or do I need to provide more?
If I took care of myself would happiness await along the shore?
I was dealt a hand of misfortune, no aces in sight
Not even a shadow tails due to the lack of light
Dig little rabbit, keep on searching for a way out
I'll soon follow you to true harmony
