Sinking

Sinking

A Poem by Joey Martinez

What more is there to say, I'm lost
My mind became numb, my heart is beginning to frost
I'm trying my best but that's not enough
I need a fresh do over to eliminate the rust
The mirror portrays a man who's sick of his reflection
Sick of the bad choices that keep adding to the collection
I'm drowning in a sea of mistakes
I'm trying to stick my head out but it might be too late
I'm gasping for air as I choke on my own despair
I just need a hand who can offer some love and care
But I keep sinking
I keep doing careless things without thinking
I'm reaching the shallow end of the sea
Do me a favor, don't be like me
