SinkingA Poem by Joey Martinez
What more is there to say, I'm lost
My mind became numb, my heart is beginning to frost I'm trying my best but that's not enough I need a fresh do over to eliminate the rust The mirror portrays a man who's sick of his reflection Sick of the bad choices that keep adding to the collection I'm drowning in a sea of mistakes I'm trying to stick my head out but it might be too late I'm gasping for air as I choke on my own despair I just need a hand who can offer some love and care But I keep sinking I keep doing careless things without thinking I'm reaching the shallow end of the sea Do me a favor, don't be like me © 2014 Joey Martinez |
