Too Late

Too Late

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Walking along side the lake
Thinking about my current mistakes
I drifted towards the cold
My heart is turning into mold
I changed into a soulless creature
A despicable man with devilish features
The darkness of my past
Has brought me into a troubled path
What.... what have I done?
Life is too much so I chose to run
Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back
But the courage to drown myself is what I lack
I just need a bit of sunshine to break through
Can that beam of light be you?
Or are you going to walk past me once again
And start to care when my life reaches the end
