Moved On

Moved On

A Poem by Joey Martinez

The climate shifts to a colder shade
The memories that warmed my heart begin to fade
I finally got these feelings off my chest
The thought of you has been put to rest
Losing you was one of my biggest fears
But I moved on, I switched gears
Darkness no longer stalkishly lingers
I no longer ache to grasp your fingers
And the moon no longer consumes
They say love is in the air but I don't inhale the fumes
I always wanted to become a man
But you being a part of it wasn't the plan
You made me into what I wanted to be
The pain you gave me set me free
Your dreadful sins added fuel to the fire
Thank you for leaving me you despicable liar
I'm no longer the boy you met
I'm the man you'll soon regret
