Compassion

Compassion

A Poem by Joey Martinez

You want to explore the world

I want to explore your mind

I just want to make sure

That you're not pulling an act so I can see if you're truly fine

I want to see what emotions run through your brain

I want to see if happiness is truly in your lane

Those eyes look joyous but speak of false tales

Your heart beats normally but seems a little stale

Are you truly okay are you truly stable?

Can you stand up on your own

Are you truly okay being alone?

You're a mystery waiting to be solved

I sense the aura of negative emotions have evolved

I'm not the type of person who goes by looks

I know your heart is a grenade, ready to be cooked

I can feel the gentle care in your hands becoming tense

I know you want to overcome these emotions but you can't climb the fence

How can you travel the world feeling like this

I can sense your lips are aching for a kiss

You must understand I am not like any other man

I would sacrifice my life for you and dig myself in dirt to become your land

I truly care about you, your pain makes me ache

I've shed so many tears for you, I can feel the jealousy of the Lakes

You wear a mask of happiness, you almost had me fooled

I told you before, I am not like the others, I will never be cruel

My arms are open to you all the time

Now I'm going to ask you again.... are you fine?

So beautiful and Compassionate.

Very romantic heart wrenching and piercing stanza's lines here
I loved these stanza's lines Lovely and true Raw emotions from the heart.

You wear a mask of happiness, you almost had me fooled

I told you before, I am not like the others, I will never be cruel

My arms are open to you all the time.

This line gave me chills and stands out the most
I hid my pain with make up and this too at one time
not anymore so I feel some at one time in there life
wear a mask to hide that pain as they're are not ready for the
whole world to see or they're still healing and letting it go it isn't easy.

You wear a mask of happiness, you almost had me fooled

Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece
