Behold My Sight

Behold My Sight

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Those eyes, they speak volumes of sadness

I see a sad little girl looking for compassion

Those shades of blue

Speak of a horrific story about you

Fear no more, close your eyes

I'm here, and will be forever by your side

My eyes speak of majestic times

They scream happiness and care

Come take my eyes

I know its painful for you to stare

I know seeing the joy in my eyes hurts your soul

You don't want to admit it but your eyes speak louder than your tongue

I hate to see you cry those tears of fears

Come take my eyes and cry tears of cheers

Such painful memoires lie in those eyes

How can something so painful look so beautiful

Those eyes of pain make me feel comfort

Looking at you surpasses what my eyes have witnessed from before

But you can't see what I see

You can't see that astonishing blue that hurts the jealous sea

So come, reach for my face and remove my eyes

And look in the mirror so you can see where heaven lies
