Gone, But Not Forgotten

Gone, But Not Forgotten

A Poem by Joey Martinez

God and his angels called you away
I did all that I can to have him let you stay
But heaven must have rejoiced
Seeing you walk through those Pearly Gates that day
But I refused to believe it was true
That you were no longer here and that I had to say goodbye to you
Still to this day I go through some pain
And that will continue until we meet again
I wish I can wake up and see your marvelous smile
I know you're up above but I can still feel your love from countless miles
You got me through a lot and helped me when I was in need
You were there whenever I was hungry, always ready to feed
Heaven has just gotten a beautiful angel on their side
You can roam around freely, theres no need to hide
I loved how you were so gentle and kind
And such a smart person with a creative mind
Thank you for showing me that humanity still exists
And on every birthday, seeing you is my only wish
God bless
