Lone Wolf

Lone Wolf

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Have no fear this isn't a suicidal letter
But I am leaving this world to search for something better
I can't take another second of this horrid place
I can't remember the last time a smile was made on my face
I'm off to try something completely new
Because I can't stand being around all of you
You all mock my goals and support my fall
But I know soon enough I'll come back and stand tall
But for now I must go and be on my own
The greatest company I can have is myself alone
I have no regrets about this decision so don't bother finding me
Because where I'm going exceeds further than you'll ever seek
I'm out to accomplish my foolish goals and prove you wrong
And I won't come back until I accomplish them so yea I might take long
You probably wouldn't notice I'm gone, you probably wouldn't even care
But once I reach fame and fortune I know you'll be begging me to share
So don't worry about this leave of absence it will only make me stronger
I've been meaning to leave for quite some time but I couldn't wait any longer
So I'm gonna go make my exit now, I gotta go blow off some steam
Next time I come back, you'll still be in reality while I live in my dreams
