I care, I'll be there

I care, I'll be there

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Upon your desert, I place a moist kiss
To quench your luscious oasis
Kissing lips that crave a liquid taste
Letting no drop go to waste
I saw that you needed me in your eyes
You needed rain to shower your skies
At dusk, the dark shadows crawled
At dawn, I heard my name being called
You wanted me to show you the light
And with one kiss, all was bright
On the coldest nights, I saw you shiver
I saw your lips shake and your arms quiver
You needed warmth to survive the night
So I came with open arms, and made all feel right
The winds came and blew everything away
But not me, I'd promised you I'd stay
No matter what conditions come to chase
I will surpass and speed through any race
To make sure nothing happens to that heavenly face
