Let me tell you a true story, about a compassionate man

This guy would offer you his home with no hesitation, probably even his whole land

What a character this man is, he showed me humanity exists 

He showed me the world isn't just people who dwell on ignorance and bliss

At my worst, at my very lowest, he was always there

To remind me, that he's with me no matter what and that he'll always care

And I respect that his actions towards me are nothing but fair

Even if all he had was a simple crumb of bread, he'd share

He made me realize how it is to be human, how it is to feel

He forgave me for the horrible things I done, like manipulate and steal

Because of him, I escaped that hole I dug myself into

He provided me with wings, and with that I flew

I am a better person because of this man

To find someone like him? I doubt you can

I was on the brink of ending it all

But he was there, with open hands and caught me before I endured the fall 

Who knew the kid who sat right beside me in shop class would be

The closest friend I ever had in my life, and the one who saved me

We been through a lot, we've both got dealt a bad hand

But we would always try to enjoy it any way we can

In the pouring rain or in the vicious cold nights

We would hang out no matter what, to make sure we we're both alright

Your presence alone makes me feel so safe

We both know if we had to take a bullet for each other, we would not hesitate 

You changed me from a kid to a man

No matter what time or day it was, you'd always lend a helping hand

Thank you, so much for being there all the time

Thank you for calling me, asking if I was fine

Thank you for everything, thank you for making me apart of your life
