Koko ni kuru

Koko ni kuru

A Poem by Joey Martinez

As I walk around the streets of Japan, enjoying the scenic views
I can't help the fact that I can't stop thinking about you
I'm surrounded by the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen
But it still doesn't compare to you, no not one bit
When you left me, I felt as if my life was over that this was it
I enter a local cuisine and order our favorite dish
A bowl of ramen, white rice and a side order of fish
I'm eating alone and you have no idea how much I want you here by my side
I wish you were here enjoying this meal while I get lost in those blue sky eyes
Remember how I told you how I always wanted to go Japan with you?
And said I promise I'd work as hard as I can to make that dream true?
And you told me "Joey, just keep doing what you do"
Well I'm here, but it doesn't feel right without you
My dreams didn't just involve me, it involved you and I
If I said that I didn't miss you or enjoyed my time here, thats a flat out lie
I made it here but you're nowhere to be found
I was at my highest with you, but now I am at the ground
People say Japan is the most beautiful place to call home
But I can't live here without you all alone
Just give me one more chance, thats all I ask
I made my dream come true, but I still have one final task
To get you back, for us to be together once again
They say nothing lasts forever, but I know we'll make it till the end
Le ni kite, utsukushi-sa ari, shin no han Japan hyoji
