Strange Journey

Strange Journey

A Poem by Joey Martinez

She grabs my hand and puts the tab in my mouth
I hope this goes well instead of going down south
She told me she wanted to embark a spiritual journey
At first I was hesitant but now I'm glad she chose me
I feel the high starting to hit, all feels right
The hills begin to move, colors shine bright
I feel weightless, the wind is moving me like a kite
She lays on top of me and plays some Pink Floyd
I feel the song bounce around my head as if it were void
I know I heard this song before but it sounds brand new
I look at her and say "What did you do?"
I feel as if time is flying by but its only been a minute or two
I rise up and grab her hand
I never felt anything so soft, it was as if I was grabbing sand
I run and run until I can't no more
I'm having the time of my life but I still don't know whats in store
We walk around the forest, gazing at the trees
Touching the rough rugged wood and gentle crisp leaves
Everything is shifting, almost as if the forest was dancing to beat of the song
At first I was nervous but now I hope this trip lasts long
We come across a gorgeous flowing river
So beautiful, my body was too amazed and shivered
I gently put my hand on the water and take a drink
I took a small sip but it felt like my body was going to sink
I felt the water rush all over my body and refresh my soul
I never felt these emotions before, was I just a emotionless pole?
Before this, I never appreciated nature and its goods
Was it because I didn't care or was it because it was a subject I misunderstood?
She grabs me and leads me to God knows where
I can't see where we're going, I'm too focused staring at her silky smooth hair
She comes close and kisses my lips
And whispers "we made it, this is it"
We came across a astonishing field filled with beautiful flowers
I just wanted to pick them all and run around for hours
I have never seen something so beautiful before
This feeling, she's got me wanting more
I hear the music pouring out from her phone
The melodies surround me and let me know I am not alone
We sit on the soft smooth grass
Hoping this feeling will forever last
I glaze at her eyes, she stares at mine
I feel our souls connect, it became a straight line
We became one, I am her, she is me
She is the waves I am the sea
She took me to a whole new world
Man, I love this girl
